Lexus Engine Not Working

Common Reasons Your Engine Isn't Starting

There are a number of parts that work together in order to start up your engine when you get behind the wheel. If any of these parts aren't working as intended, this will disrupt the startup process. Luckily, Reliable Lexus is here to help you when you're experiencing technical difficulties. These are some of the things we check when a client experiences problems starting their engine.

It's Time for a New Battery

On average, an automobile battery is designed to last anywhere from three to five years. Sometimes repairs can be made to your battery to initiate the startup process again, but there are also times when it's simply time to buy a new battery because your current one can't hold a charge normally.

Defective Ignition

When battery problems don't seem to be the culprit, let us look at your ignition switch. You'll find that your ignition isn't initiating any activity under the hood of your vehicle when there's a problem, but all battery-powered features are functioning.

Malfunction of Your Starter

A small electric motor in your engine compartment will power your starter so your engine can start. We suspect a problem with this area of your automobile if you're hearing odd sounds like clicking coming from your engine when you're trying to start it. No power is being generated, however.

Replacing Your Fuel Filter

A lot of people don't realize that there is a fuel filter that is located in their vehicle, in addition to the oil filter and air filter that are regularly replaced during routine service appointments. Your fuel filter can become clogged around the 20,000 to 30,000-mile marker and will need to be replaced.

Running Out of Gas

When you've forgotten that your automobile needs gas and you run out, your engine isn't going to start. This is an easy fix that's as simple as putting fuel in your fuel tank. Try to be mindful of how much fuel you have in your tank moving forward, so this problem doesn't happen again.
